Hidden Figures- SPOILER ALERT!!!

Taylor
Watched Hidden Figures and broke down crying when Catherine, the main character, had to walk half a mile just to use the restroom because there were no colored restrooms in her building. I cried even harder when her boss broke the colored sign for the restroom. I hate to see what black Americans have had to go through just to use the restroom, just to eat at a resturant, just to go to school. It's eye opening I'm so blessed to be born in a time where I don't have to deal with all of the things my grandparents have had to deal with. I was called a negro by one of my patients a week ago and I was shocked and had to walk away. I couldn't imagine having to be called that every minute of every day, in a deragatory manner, and having to swallow my pride through the shame. We have a long way to go, but I'm glad we have progressed as a country.

That movie taught me so much! They worked HARD back in the day for little to no recognition. They paved the way for our generation and we cannot waste the opportunities that they made possible for us. It just made me want work hard and achieve greatness. The movie was AMAZING!
