Help! bishop score and induction???

Question

I went to see the widwife yesterday at 40 + 4 weeks for a membrane sweep. She gave me a bishop score of 9 saying that my labour is imminent, but couldn't schedule me for an induction at +10 because of my high bishop score. She just said if baby isn't here by next week to call labour and delivery to just have my waters broken. 
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?? I have no other midwife appointments now either and it wasn't my usual midwife that I saw, just super nervous and feel a bit abandoned 😫

I've never heard of bishop score being too high.. I wanted an elective induction and they do elective inductions at 39 weeks since you're full term but they told me I had to have a high bishop score (8 or more) showing that my cervix was favorable for induction. At my appt last week she said my bishop score was an 8, so I'm getting induced Monday at 39+5.

If it makes you feel better with your bishop score at a 9 you'll probably go on your own before they would induce you!! Maybe you can call your regular midwife just to talk to her about your worries

No, but it sounds reasonable. She thinks you are a prime candidate for going into labor on your own. Why would you want an induction if you don't need one? The good news is that if baby doesn't come on its own, if you are induced, it has a high likelihood of success. Just relax and try to be patient.
