How does it work taking baby to the pediatrician for the first time? She is only almost a week old so she is not covered on my insurance yet. Do they just use my insurance?

They will just ask u to get baby on your insurance asap. U should be fine for the first weight check or two until it kicks in. The insurance company will process it pretty quickly.

For medicaid just call them and let them know you had your baby then they will give you a number and you give that number to the drs thats what they will use to bill through until you get your card for them for private insurance im sure its the same but its best to call and ask

My bill just said insurance pending and to file claim once insurance is confirmed. Most dr bills don't need to be paid for at least 30 days and that's the amount of time you have to get baby covered.

Babies are covered on moms insurance for 30 days. You just give them your card
