When can I start taking my baby to the beach?

My baby boy is due May 30th, right in time for my favorite season! SUMMER! Me and my SO love to take mini trips camping and to the beach. I don't think having a baby means we have to stop doing that. In fact, it makes me more excited to do those things! I can't wait to go exploring with my baby. My question is: How soon can I start taking him on trips to the beach? And also, reguarding camping, please comment any tips you have to avoid over exposure to bugs and such. I am more concerned with the beach because of the heat and sun. We live in PA so we will be camping upstate here, and going to the beach in NJ. Any tips would be very helpful! I would like to start planning some trips soon. Thank you! :)

You aren't supposed to take baby out of the house at all except for doctors appointments for a month. Or at least that's what's recommended due to having a very weak immune system. So it's up to you. A newborn really shouldn't be in really hot weather because it makes it hard for them to breathe. They also cannot wear sunscreen until they are 6 months old I believe. These are all things you should be asking your pediatrician about really.

You'll have to keep the little one out of the sun so just get some good beach gear and they have uv suits for kids it's long sleeve bathing gear to protect them from the sun but it's not too hot. Costco sells them , they're great!

Just keep him out of the sun and not out for long periods. U can't use sunscreen till 6 months. We took our 3 month old on a beach vacation for a week. We got a beach tent for him to be in while he was outside. We also went with some other family members so baby stayed in the house for the most part.  We took turns staying with him. We didn't take him out at night time so he didn't get big bites.

My hubby and I believe our lives don't stop bc we have children. We do alter the way we do things but we don't stop. as long as you take the precautions necessary. We took our little one campingvright away. And this year our 2 baby will be born in May and we are going camping at the end of June. I will take baby to the beach, hiking and around camp fires, etc... 
Just make sure your using the right safety precautions, and staying in tune with your baby. 😊👍

I saw where you wanted to take him for your b day in August. That would be the soonest I would take him to the beach. It's just too hot for their little bodies. Now if you wanted to go walking with him I think that would be fine but I wouldn't  take him and stay for long periods of time. 
For camping, I would say the same unless you have air conditioning. Also a fitted sheet over a pack n play will work great for bugs but you still need to make sure he doesn't get too hot. It's not easy to see when their too hot. I took my youngest when he was around 4 months but we had a camper for him to sleep in at night and during the heat of the day. And just for info purposes- he hated camping at that age. He didn't like going until he could run around and play.

I would say 3 months or when she can sit up. Babies have a hard time regulating their body temperature so too hot or too cold temps can potentially be harmful. You'll also want to make sure you get son block specifically made for babies  and you won't be able to put it on her face so she'll need a hat.

I would ask your doctor about this. I would think that before 2.5/3 months is too soon. Their little bodies are so delicate. My son is due June 8th, and while I also love the beach and live close, I don't think I'll be taking my son anywhere near it this summer.

My family has planned a trip to our condo the beginning of July, I plan on going but staying inside with my son, looking at the ocean from the balcony and keeping him out of the sun.

I took my youngest to the beach for 4th of july when she was 5 or 6 weeks old. She did great. We didn't have any issues. Just get baby a swimsuit that covers and a hat to protect her scalp from sunburn. Keep her under a canopy or in the shade.
