First time yeast infection?!

So I went to the doctor and he's pretty sure I have a yeast infection but until my test results come back he suggested I use the monistat. I'm a little confused how it works though, I already inserted the egg does it dissolve? How long does it take to dissolve? When is it okay to have sex again? What are your experiences with monistat?

What?? That's so weird. 
When I got tested for that I got the results like 20 minutes later and I picked up the prescription on the way home? That's so weird. My doctor told me "yeah I'm going to give you the pill because Monistat is horrible and messy so here's the script. I wouldn't want my wife or daughters to have to deal with that so here"

Well anywho, he is right. If I use monistat I get the one day treatment. I put it in before bed and put a pad on because it comes out like lotion. But for the first 45 minutes it burns like hell so I lay with my legs open and put a cold rag over my hoohah. 
It's gone the next day. I have had sex the very next day with no issues. But of course all the medicine had made its way out by then.
Also, the burning is a good thing. It means the medicine is killing the yeast. I used to her yeast infections often and i believe it was because of my birth control. .

You don't HAVE to insert it at bedtime it just helps to sleep through it all and it makes a mess. 
I did the one day one and it worked good. Cured it all up. Was very messy for me and itched like crazy but when I'd use the cream and wipes it helped a bit. I wouldn't have sex till you're finished with it all

Insert only at bedtime. Yes it dissolves with the heat of your body very fast. And I believe no sex for the time of treatment. Maybe 7 whole days. No biggy. Symptoms go away soon. Good luck
