I'm currently past due at 40+4.   This morning I was pretty certain my water had broken and was leaking.  I lost about 2 tbs of fluid and it continued leaking, then I had my bloody show as well.  I went in to the doctors office and the alkaline strip came back positive that my membranes had ruptured.  Then she checked under the microscope for ferning and didn't see any ferning, so she said the alkaline test was a false positive and my membranes haven't ruptured.  I'm at home, cramping, extremely fatigued, and still leaking.  Does anyone know if amniotic fluid can not fern?  Could my waters have broken?  I'm feeling a bit frustrated 🙄😩
