Can Jesus help?

Question

Can Jesus help me with my social anxiety/mental disorders? I have pretty extreme social anxiety, I feel like it will be something I will live with forever.😞 I've had it all my life really, and feel like it will last the rest of my life. I don't want to live like this...Also I'm new to this whole Christian thing, like only for the past few months Jesus has found me. I'm kind of struggling with it though😁

Yes he can. He's the Prince of Peace. He can take away our pain, all we have to do is ask. It's not going to permanently go away, but when you're feeling anxious or sad, pray. Tell him how you're feeling. It'll help relieve you. I promise. I struggle with the same thing.

I've been a Christian my whole life and I struggle with anxiety and depression. It's gotten better with prayer and devotion, but I still deal with it. What I feel like helps the most is just telling God what you feel. He did create emotions after all, he understands. Some days will still be hard but you will make it through. I believe God can use mood disorders.

I don't think that religion will cure you of your anxiety because sometimes those are just natural illnesses. But God has a way for you to get help and support. There are doctors who would love to help you and I hope that he blesses you with really supportive and loving people in your life. Keep praying and stay faithful to God and I'm sure that he will guide you to happiness and health.💖

I'm going to be brutally honest.
When I was 9 my dad got cancer; Iused to believe in God and go to church every Sunday. Knowing my dad was hill a nun told me that if I had prayed enough he would have healed as the prayers of the kids arrive first to the Lord. I prayed, trust me I did, but he died anyways. It kind of felt like I hadn't prayed enough and it was my fault. What right did she have to do that to me?! I was 10 when he died, I was just a kid. It took me a long time (depression and eating disorders included) to realize that this whole pray thing doesn't work and that what had happened was not my fault.

Religion can do good, it's something you believe in and makes you feel better, gives you a purpose. Pray can help you feeling better but Jesus won't personally interfere in your life.

I believe that there's some kind of God but it's not necessarily good or bad and pray doesn't do anything. It's not about Jesus helping people it's about people own will and strength.

As someone who grew up in a strict Roman Catholic home and now questions their faith, and struggles with anxiety and depression, it honestly makes me feel worse. It's too much to think about for me.

I've never been one to find comfort in religion, but I believe that good things come to those who help themselves regardless of belief. If you just can't seem to stabilize your anxiety or emotions with healthy lifestyle changes and habits, then there's absolutely no shame in seeking help in the form of professional counceling. 😊
Perhaps it would help to see it as God's way of putting you on a path to healing.
