You don't have threesomes with close friends, it's likely to tear friendships apart. (Cue the person commenting "well it worked fine for me"). You need to set rules in a threesome e.g you can't pay more attention to the third person than each other. So basically if either of you don't like it or get jealous, then you never have to see the third person again. If it was a close friend and they were around a lot then that jealousy could continue and escalate.
