Expensive Baby Stuff

Has anybody been "parent bullied" because they didn't go out and buy the most expensive car seat, stroller, crib, etc?
 I knew I'd be put on bedrest so hubby and I saved up money for bills and stuff before hand but we just don't want to spend hundreds on baby stuff. I got a nice $80 car seat from Walmart that had good reviews but I've had people making snide remarks.
