marriage license???

Question

I'm just wondering, if you stand in Church before God, family and friends, say your vows and make a promise to God but don't sign the legal document (marriage license) are you still married in Gods eyes?

I asked my.pastor this question when we got married and he said the Bible says we are to abide by the laws of our land. So whatever the laws are in your state you should follow. Some do common law marriage and some require the certificate.

In Gods eyes yes but not in the eyes of the law. And I don't actually think a church is allowed legally to perform a marriage without a signed licence or the signing of the licence taking place during the ceremony. We dined ours on our wedding day during the ceremony.
