I can't feel the pitocin!!

So I can into the hospital last night with contractions. They were going to send me home, because i wasn't in full blown labor yet. When they checked my blood pressure and noticed how high it was, they decided to induce me. I started pitocin around midnight and it is now 8am, and I still haven't been able to feel the contractions get stronger. Or if I do feel it, I can feel the tightening and the a cramp in my left hip. Has this happened to anyone else?
