Subpoenaed: 2 week old baby, delusional baby daddy and sexual assault *Rant...kind of*
9 months ago I was in a horrible home invasion with my ex, who is also the father of my baby. They beat him almost to death and held us at gunpoint for almost 45 minutes. They sexually assaulted me and got a few hits in as well. 😒 Since then I've undergone therapy and..well...my pregnancy was made terrible by PTSD and my ex who has just completely failed and gone back on every single thing he said he would/wanted to do, including missing her birth to stay at work (he works at a fucking supplement store..trying to say nobody would cover his shift. Then went on a spontaneous vacation 2 days later to Colorado for 5 days.) and only having come to see her once..very briefly right after she was born and even then he almost bailed on that.
We received subpoenas to testify on February 6th, I have no one available to watch my daughter and even if I did..she is exclusively breastfeeding and will only be 2 weeks old..she hardly has any vaccinations either and I don't want to bring her to the courthouse with all those sick, dirty people. I'm going to be stressed enough as it is dealing with testifying and having to relive all that crap along with having to see my ex who will literally pretend that he isn't a father but expects me to foot the bill for a DNA test.
The fuckery is real ladies! My question though is this: how do you go about handling the court in these situations? I'm not trying to get out of testifying but I certainly will not be coping well with my ex and the men that assaulted me in the same room, especially being an exhausted new parent. Thoughts? Suggestions?
