3D /4d ultra sound and gender scan bad for baby??

Question

So I am 16 weeks 4 days.  My doctor doesn't plan to let me know sex until 21 weeks and I have had one ultrasound my whole pregnancy. My insurance says there is NO max that I can get.
I'm thinking of going to a different location besides me doctor for 3D/4d ultra sound and to find out the sex and hear heartbeat soon. My husband hasn't been to any of my appts because he works mon-fri but this separate location is open 7days a week until 9 pm. ThiS girl at my job said she never had it done with her kids bc she hears so many u/s are bad for the baby. Did anyone else go to a separate location just for one scan and everything was fine? Also did everyone get an accurate gender reading before the normal 18-22 week scan ? I really don't want to wait and want to see the baby thanks ❤

If they were that harmful, they wouldn't do them.

I have had so many ultrasounds because I had a lot of subchronic hemorrhages due to a detachment...I must've had about 15 ultrasounds or so and I'm only 23 wks...my baby is doing well and a very active little guy;) It's really not a problem in my opinion.

Yes! My doctor actually even recommended a place for us! I'd say do it. It's so worth it!

Too many ultrasounds aren't bad. They don't harm the baby. And I went to a private clinic for an early gender scan. I paid $50. I was 14 weeks and 1 day. I got it comfirmed 3 times after that at my obgyn. And they did get it right. All girl.

You can get a gender Reveal so no at 16 weeks or more but I'd wait on the 3D/4D until your 30w. From what my son tech said some babies don't look fully formed facial and can be a bit scary before the 30w mark

My aunt tried telling me i was harming my baby by getting too many scans its not truem they wouldnt do it if it did. Also your insurance wont cover a 3d ultrasound or an elective ultrasound so youd have to pay out of pocket. Honestly it can be pricey i would just wait if i were you

They could be bad only if you have an improperly trained tech or equipment that has not been calibrated and maintained properly. That is the only concern with private places.

And insurance isn't going to pay for a private ultrasound even if there is no max. They only pay for ultrasounds for medical reasons determined by a doctor.

Don't listen to that, too many aren't bad. They know how much time to spend doing an ultrasound so that it doesnt affect the baby. I've had 6. Two of which were 3D ones I payed for myself. The first 3D one was at 16 weeks and 3 days to find out the gender which was 100% accurate. I'm 39 weeks now and my baby is completely fine
