Arguing 24/7

Is anyone dealing with an uptight, insecure SO!? I am constantly arguing with my bf about the most stupid things alive. It's literally everything I do or say he thinks I'm trying to show off when I'm so oblivious of the people around me. Not just that, he gets so mad over simple stuff I suggest that he doesn't want to do. Does anyone know what I could do to help him get rid of this snobby attitude?
