1/29 due date! Being induced tomorrow morning. So excited to meet my son! Anyone have good tips for induction or stories? I've been dilated 3.5cm for 3 weeks, hoping it goes quickly!

Induction was a piece of cake. I went from 5.5 to 9.5 in 45 minutes after the epidural and pushed for 1.5 hours and won this prize!

Once they break your water the contractions get much more severe, so be prepared for that!  Other than that I've had pitocin twice now and both labors were around 8 hours with like 10 min of pushing. I just had my second today with pitocin and after they broke my water fully (it was heavily leaking when we came in) I went from 1.5cm I had been stuck at to 5 in a matter of 3-4 hours, got my epidural, dozed for a couple hours, then woke up ready to push.  It all went so quickly!

I got induced with all 3 of my kids, my daughter at 38 weeks, my son at 39 weeks and my second son just 2 weeks ago today at 37 weeks 4 days. My labor with my daughter went good but lasted 18hrs but I was barely dilated to a 1 1/2cm at start of induction. My labor with my second son I was 3cm and I labored for 6hrs 46min. And my labor with my son I just had 2 weeks ago I went in at 4cm 50% thinned and station -2, I labored a total of 9hrs 35 min. Once they broke my water at almost 7cm I literally had him not even an hr later. All of mine were very successful inductions. My daughter was 8lbs 0.9oz, first son was 8lbs 2.5oz and my second son was 8lbs 6.4oz. Didn't tear with any of them, and I did get epidural for all 3 of them.

I was recently induced too. Took 40 hours from the time I got to the hospital until the time my son was born. Bring some cards, books, games to keep you busy. If you plan on getting an epidural, get it right away once the contractions start. I made the mistake of trying to go through the "milder" ones for 2 1/2 hours and with inductions, they're more painful in general. Once that drug hit, it was easy peasy...well, that is until it was time to push 😉. Good luck and enjoy the experience and time with your significant other!

I was 4cm/75%/-2 to begin with.  Pitocin was started at 12:45pm, broke my water at 4:30pm, complete and pushing at 6:30pm and baby born at 7:19pm!  I agree with the previous poster about contractions getting WAY more intense after breaking your water! I wasn't prepared for that!  Good luck 😊

I was completely closed and a little long but very soft when we started my induction. One round of the cervical gel and I was at 1 cm so they did a balloon and got to 6 cm really fast. I would definitely get the epidural as soon as you can! Had a very unpleasant 3 hours. I was ready to push within 16 hours from the start so it all went extremely well and quickly and I didn't even need pitocin. Unfortunately, I had to have a c section because baby was tangled in his cord. However, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how the induction went up to that point. Hopefully you will have a similar experience. Good luck and congrats!!
