Can't tel if I'm having.contractions?! FTM

Question

I'm a FTM I'm 37weeks 4days, I've been experiencing these very sharp pains that my whole tummy tightens right up. Then I'm feeling a lot of pressure down there. I'm not sure what's going on.
Any ideas?

If there occasionally then there braxton hicks,, if they are painful and are continuous start tracking them. Could be labor

Try timing them. I use an app called Labor Signs which helps you time them and then stores all of your contractions. It actually notifies me when my contractions are similar to those of active labor. It also comes in handy when I've called my OB to ask if I should be seen and they ask me how many contractions and how far apart etc. 
 
Try timing them. My OB says if you're having them less than 10 min apart and they're lasting over 30 seconds to always call.
