the first steps of birth control...

i need help kinda rapidly. so it's my first time taking birth control, and my doctor recommended that i start yesterday. i couldn't start yesterday because my mom refused to let me pick up the pill myself but then forgot to do it herself. i started my period saturday.
the box of the pill says to take it day one of the period or the sunday, but i have missed both for those. i tried calling my doctor awhile ago but she didn't pick up. what would you do? does it really matter when i start it? i don't want to have to wait until my next period to start it.
also can i take my pill anywhere between 11:1130? that's the time i know i'll always be home, but it's not exact like the doctor recommended...
