I thought I could do it

I really thought I wanted an unmedicated birth. My reasons were so that I could move around during labor and be able to get up and shower and stuff after birth. After going to L&D for contractions last week, I just don't feel like I can do it anymore. The cervix check was so bad, how can I expect to go unmedicated? How long after birth was it until you could walk around? What was your experience?
