Broken cycle?!

So my ex boyfriend and I have just dealing with eachother from an on and off relationship for 2 yrs. Every summer we would end up not talking at all and I'd go have sex with a boy to feel the empty void... I'm currently am talking to a boy (4 months) that I like a lot and I do feel a sexual connection and do wanna have sex with him soon but i don't know when it's right?!
