Buying Baby Stuff??

Question

Hey ladies! I have a question, when do you think is the right time to start buying baby items?

I'm taking anything from clothes to the cot! My husband doesn't want me to buy anything yet because he says it's still too early (7 weeks 4 days today), but if I had my way I'd be buying the cot I want at 12 weeks!

I'm waiting until after my baby shower, I'll be 33 weeks then

I wait until after my 20 week scan . To me the scan wasn't about gender it's about much more . They check EVERYTHING ! And make sure your baby is healthy . I wanted to wait to make sure our baby was okay before I really started anything .  This is always my rainbow baby so I was extra cautious

I would wait until you know the gender, and if your having any type of baby shower, after that as well (besides the occasional little things). If you aren't having a baby shower or finding out the gender, I would still wait until about 16 weeks, but that's just me.

I bought a few after my first positive like onsies & an outfit for boy & girl. It's the way we will reveal the gender to my kids but i haven't got anything new until I check what we really need etc. It will happen around spring since we planning on cleaning the attic after that i may go a bit crazy 😜

I buy one baby item every paycheck honestly. I'm 16 weeks. I have a swing, bouncer, crib, breast pump, and blankets so far. It helps honestly so you're not freaking out. I also bought a few outfits ones that I thought were absolutely adorable and couldn't pass up.

We're splitting the cost of everything up by buying 1 thing every month. But, so far, we've only bought the travel cot (Koo-di pop-up bubble cot), maternity clothes and a few baby clothes :p

I've started making a wish list online, and I'm keeping an eye out for sales and money off coupons, then getting stuff then.

Still no idea on the cot though. We live in a place with malaria, dengue and chikungunya, so I'm apprehensive about what kind of cot to buy; I want something we can cover with a mosquito net, but that's easy for me to lift the baby out of (I have hip and back issues) so we have the choice of some flimsy bassinets with good mosquito nets, or a traditional wooden cot we'd have to use a box-shaped mosquito net over, than will be a pain to wrestle with several times a night. Seriously just considering using the travel cot, since it's got a good mosquito net on it!

I'm 14 weeks and 3 days and have already brought my cot, changing table and rocking chair... I'll be buying my pram in 2 weeks when I find out the gender

I started buying at 20weeks. But that's only cause I was waiting till the gender. But whenever you feel comfortable is usually up to you. Buying a few small things from like socks and stuff can get your SO on the baby buying train.

I would buy little things after I heard the heartbeat. Such as diapers wipes pregnancy book ect. Big items probably after 20-24 weeks. I just went through an MC and bought some stuff so now we have a "Mason or Lexie Draw" in one of our dressers. 😢 one day....

I bought a few clothes on sale (unisex) - now I am 16 weeks and they said I am having a boy but confirmation next app at 20 weeks. Once I know for sure, I will buy more stuff gradually 😊
