No. Most drs (due to guidelines) won't induce you before 39w if there aren't any complications.

Some Dr's allow it after 39 weeks, others not until 40 weeks or more,  some only if there is a medical reason. So it depends on your dr. Mine allows it after 39 weeks, you can choose any day (except no weekends unless medically necessary). But my Dr says it's risky to do if your cervix isn't ripened and you're not at all dilated, puts you at higher risk for c section if your body isn't ready.

What previous posters said, but it also depends on how you're progressing with some docs. I'm 41w and he won't even attempt it right now because there's no progression and baby hasn't dropped.

Some doctors won't induce at all unless there's medical reasons to do so, while some will as early as 39 weeks. My doctors will ask me at my 36 week appointment if I want to be induced at 39 weeks and if so they will schedule me my appointment to come to hospital and have my room set up when I arrive. I was induced with my son at 39 weeks at 10am and had him at 6pm that night. I will ask to be induced with this baby as well if I don't go into labor before 39 weeks.
