Question about NT test!?

My obgyn put in an order for me to do the NT Scan and blood work. They made my appointment for my 12 weeks mark. I have been reading a lot about woman finding out gender from the blood work a week later. Is that for the test I am doing? I didn't know this when the appointment was made so I didn't get the chance to ask my obgyn. Thanks in advance Ladies 😊

I did the NT but couldn't find out gender. My midwife said the gender is in the advanced screening which is for high risk patients. It's not covered by insurance and is over $1,000. But I'm not sure what test they are doing for you. I only got blood work and ultrasound.

I had mine done today it was the ultrasound and blood test as well but unfortunately they didn't tell me the gender but she give me a guess though which is good enough LOL she said looks like a girl but it still to early to tell so I guess I'll have to wait till a couple weeks to find out at the 3-D.

The NT Scan is usually accompanied by the NIPT blood work, which is a genetics test where they count the number of 13, 18, and 21 chromosomes. The NIPT also can tell you the gender if you want it to. If this is the test your doctor is giving you may want to discuss with him/her how you want the results delivered to you.

It's probably just blood work to see your hcg levels, if you have anything in your blood stream and what your boood type is. The blood tests that determine the sex will be a genetic test. Hope this helps 💗
