Getting a tattoo while breastfeeding ?

Do you ladies know if its safe to get a tattoo while breastfeeding...

I have been wanting to get my ex fiances name covered but. 
I just hate seeing it on me. Specially since i still love the asshole.

Anyways. I know tattoo's aren't  safe to get while pregnant. . 
But is it the same for when breastfeeding ?

I'm a tattoo artist and I don't recommend it. Your body is working hard to produce milk for your baby, which can cause your immune system to weaken, which can cause you to have more trouble healing and leave you prone to getting an infection. This is the worst case scenario, but I think it's better to be safe than sorry.

They always ask and have you sign to confirm your not breastfeeding but the ink cannot get into your milk to affect baby, it's just a liability.  I got my tattoo done while I was breastfeeding, lied and said I wasn't but my son is perfectly fine!

I got two tattoos while breastfeeding when my baby girl was just over a month old. It never affected anything and we breastfed for over a year afterwards. If you go to a trusted safe and clean shop you'll be fine. I've known my tattoo artist since I was a child he wouldn't of tattooed me if it wasn't safe for me and the little one.
