Who to allow in delivery room ?

Is it weird that I want my father in the delivery room while I give birth? I would like him and my fiancé in the room. I love my mom til death but we both agreed her being in the room probably won't be the best thing because we both have the same attitudes. And I just know she's bound to say or do something to irritate me. I know for sure if I ask my dad he's probably going to say no he's not a labor/delivery type of guy .

I was always told, "if they didn't have any part in making the baby, they shouldn't be in the delivery room." With the exception of nursing staff. I had my husband and my mom to take pictures for us.

I guess if he stays up by your head and just help coach that would be OK.

I've already decided that I only want my husband in the room with me when that time comes. I figure he's the one who helped me make that child, he can be there to support me while I'm having it lol. But I would like the rest of my close family (if they so choose) to be close by, like in the waiting area maybe? Because I need other people around in case my husband completely forgets stuff lol.

I had both my parents and SO in the room. My dad being there happened by accident. He came up to say hi and then I progressed so fast that he stayed. It didn't really bother me at all though and I've never thought about it since haha. Honestly I don't care who is in there, as long as they're fully aware that I cuss loudly and might not be nice throughout the delivery (unmedicated) haha

I'm just having my husband. I'm much closer to my dad than my mom though and wouldn't mind him in the hospital if he could be. There's areas he can stand in the room where he won't see things and still be there for support (like by your head). Also for those saying things about seeing your vagina he use to clean your dirty diapers granted he hasn't had to for year but it's just a thought.

I am only having my husband. But my cousin had her husband and her father and it meant a lot to her (baby was the first grandson) and the husband was very nervous. So having dad there helped her and dad helped deliver baby with doctors permission.

Have whoever you want in the room in the room. If you want your mom there, have her there. Just tell her beforehand that she has to be on her best behavior or she's gone. Labor can be a long process where you want all the support you can get. I may be one of the weird ones, but my husband will be there along with my brothers, my parents, my mom's 3 best friends, and two of my close friends. Obviously not all packed in there at the same time, but my mindset is the more the merrier. It's not gonna be pretty, but it's a moment I want my family to be there for.
