Please be careful when taking your child to daycare, just because they seem responsible does not mean they are! I worked at one for one day and I am forever traumatized! It started with me going into the play area, where the kids had free time and ate lunch. The first hour consisted of the daycare worker screaming at the children for being loud, which isn't horrible but still very unprofessional and unnecessary. After lunch, it was pool time. Out of 10 children, 3 of them weren't potty trained. So this teacher made those 3 sit on a towel on the side of the pool, they were not allowed to move at all, or even play with each other. As if they were in trouble for not being potty trained. It was 100 degrees that day and eventually their faces got so red that there was sweat dripping down their face. So I told the worker that she needs to either let these kids in the pool or let them go back inside, it was just too hot. And so what does she do? Picks them up one by one by an arm and a leg, dunks them on the pool, and put them back on the towel. Soon after we went back inside to change. After being dressed, they went to go play on the playground. We were out there for about a half hour when the worker said it was time to go in. I didn't realize one of the kids was missing, I barely knew the group and figured the worker had already Counted. After about 15 minutes, she freaks out because She realized one of the children was missing! She runs outside, just leaving the kids with me even though legally I wasn't supposed to be alone with the kids. She brings the poor boy back while he's hyperventilating, crying about how he wants his mommy. I took him into the bathroom to wash his hands and calm him down. He told me that he didn't even know we went inside, but she screamed at him anyways. I never thought to post this on this website, but hopefully some of you ladies will be willing to give me advice on who to call and report them. The name of the daycare is Happy Hours, in wappingers falls NY.
