Would you be upset?

It's my fiancé'a bday and I got him Monster Jams (trucks crashing into each other's) so he can take our son. We coparent w/ him and get him every 3 months. The date of the event was before he had to go back to his mom-- so I thought, great bonding time for them and instead of giving him material things, I got him an experience.
His immediate reaction was he loved it. The day comes and they go-- before going, he asks "did you get pit tickets too?". I'm slightly annoyed cause these tickets are a gift, how much did he think I would spend to get backstage pits too? I let it go. They go and I got a Snapchat of how bad the seats were "literally the furthest seats..." and I'm now annoyed. I texted and said hope they were enjoying themselves although no pit tickets and bad seats but it was the thought that counts. He reassured me they were having fun still. So we're in bed after their event and he was telling me about it and casually mentioned to me.. "next time check seat charts to ensure where the view is blah blah" AND I SNAPPED! These were a gift to him, we always teach our son, even if you don't like the gift, you show appreciation! Was I wrong for feeling fed up and him being unappreciative even tho he tells me he liked the thought, etc.
