Go to ER or Wait until tomorrow?

Question

So I'm 5 weeks 6 days and woke up to heavy bleeding this morning. I have already resigned myself to knowing I'm miscarrrying. I have bad cramps as well. It's Sunday so my doctor is obviously closed. Should I go to the ER or is it ok to wait and call my doctors office tomorrow? Just wondering other people's opinions. I've told my husband so he knows I was pregnant but he's the only one so reaching out here. This is our first miscarriage.

If your dizzy, seeing spots, feverish, chills or extreme abdominal pain, go to the er. 2 overnight pads an hour for more than four hours is a definite sign that something is wrong. My prayers are with you

My ob said if I had soaked a pad in an hour to go to the ER, but otherwise I was fine to wait. Prayers for you💚

I went through something similar in September. I was about 6 weeks and started having cramping and bleeding on a Saturday. I new we were losing the baby, and just thought it was a miscarriage. I tried to wait it out until my doctors office reopened and planned to ride it out out home. Then that night I started vomiting and almost fainted. My husband was terrified and convinced me to go to the ER. He may have saved my life. It turned out we had an ectopic pregnancy. Thankfully my tube had not ruptured and we were able to treat medically. If in doubt, your OB/GYN probably has an after hours service that can get your doctor to give you a call and recommendations. Thanks everyone, still bleeding and mild cramps. I called the doctor this morning and am waiting to hear back. This just plain sucks 😢

If it's a lot of blood then go to the hospital. They might also tell you since it's too early they won't be able to see the baby.

If the bleeding is heavy I would go in. That way they can take blood and check your levels and do a scan to see if there's anything. Also do you know if you are rh negative? They would give you a shot if you are. Best of luck to you. I have been there twice and it is no fun at all.❤️

I had a chemical pregnancy, which sounds like this may be. It was a holiday so I called my doctor and they said there was no rush to go in. Sadly there is nothing they can do to stop it. 🙁

They won't be able to do much at the ER. I was also 5 weeks and 6 days when I knew I was miscarrying and went to the ER and there was not much they could do. I'm so sorry about what you're going through.. 😣

If you are soaking a pad in an hour, go in. You could also call the on call doctor to ask advice.
