Got off Tri-Lo Sprintec for a month due to excessive bleeding

I bled so much on this pill that I had to change super tampons every 2 hours for a week straight. My gyno took me off this pill for a month. I just got my real period, hoping not to get crazy cramps. She wants my body to relax for 3 months without being on birth control when I've been on it for a year. It's going to be hard so I downloaded this app to see when I'm ovulating since I don't want to get pregnant. Hoping this goes by quickly, any suggestions on birth control that did not have any adverse reactions welcome. Before this I was on loestrin and that gave me spotting all the time.
