2nd pill packet

So I started taking birth control last month for the first time. I finished the first packet, got my period during the placebo week so all good there. I was just wondering is it okay to have unprotected sex during the first few days of the second packet? I started my second packet already and had sex with my boyfriend on the second day of it, he came in me but I just wanted to make sure if I'm safe? Thanks everyone, I know this may seem like a dumb question but I'm new to contraceptives and sex as well. :/
