Bf mad about me wearing makeup?

My boyfriend gets not necassary mad but he gets in a bad mood or has an attitude when I wear makeup, usually I wear it everyday because I don't feel confident without it especially when I'm at work. Honestly without it I look like an overly tired crack addict. And I have mild rosacea. I feel like I wear a normal amount of makeup tho, nothing over the top. He always has to make sarcastic "joking" comments like "you and your 100 pounds of makeup.." and "what do you do for weddings? Dip your face in paint?" And today he said I should save makeup for special occasions and basically saying it should be just for him. He also gets annoyed if I wear low cut shirts. He doesn't tell me I can't so he's not controlling but he just makes those comments to me because it bothers him. But it shouldn't because I work with older ladies and one married guy and never see any customers because I work in the back, and he knows this. Anyways, I don't want to tell him I feel unconfident and ugly without makeup, I don't want him to know that insecurity I feel about myself. So idk how to fix this. Advice?

Tell him to shut up ...honestly no need to be nice about it, he shouldn't make you feel bad and he should recognize that girls wear makeup on the reg

I could say that you should talk about your insecurities with your boyfriend, but I'm more annoyed by the comments he's making. He shouldn't be making you feel bad for something minor like makeup or clothes. If you feel uncomfortable, that's fine. You can work through them at you own pace. You don't need him making it harder on you.

This is how abusive relationships start, honey. The joking is acceptable because my own BF says it every now and then, but telling you WHEN you can wear make-up and WHO you can wear it for? That crosses the line.

I had a boyfriend like that. Not quite the same but he would get upset and say mean things to me because I wasn't doing what he wanted. I told myself it wasn't controlling because he never said I couldn't do something. But over time I started conforming to him just to make it easier. I snapped out of it thankfully and walked away and never looked back. I didn't realize that he had been controlling until I was with my current boyfriend and things were so different.

My personal opinion is that when your boyfriend starts saying mean comments about how you dress, look, act then he's in the wrong. He's got the right to say that he doesn't like what you're doing or say that he feels uncomfortable. But he can't be mean about it or make you feel bad about it. That is trying to control someone. He's not being mature and talking to you about his concerns. Try talking to him because maybe he doesn't know what he's doing and just doesn't know how to talk about t. But if he can't treat you with respect then honestly walk away because it's a lot harder to walk away once you stop being yourself and make yourself into what he wants you to be.

Yea same I've been in an abusive relationship but just try n tell him about what he's saying to u n how it makes u feel. He also should know why u wear it n if he's the right guy he should make u feel beautiful with nothing on. Wear what u feel is appropriate he probably just doesn't want other guys looking at u n thinking things he does it's just guys way of feeling territorial haha my bf does it too so I totally get it

I had a boyfriend who did this. I dismissed it. He was abusive and this is one of the abusive things he did. I stopped being a pansy and letting him walk all over me and broke up with him
