false negative ??

Okay so I took a cheap dollar general pregnancy test yesterday and it said it was negative but my period is 3 days late and I have all of the pregnancy symptoms. My boyfriend and I have unprotected sex and I'm not on birth control. I had a miscarriage in July and we've had scares but we are both pretty sure that I am pregnant. We were having sex and he came in me on the day I was ovulating and then again the next day which I was still 22% fertile. So could it be a false negative? I bought more tests to take but I'm thinking I should wait till morning.
