Endometrial receptivity assay!?
Has anyone done this? We are starting a second round of stims and I'd love to hear some stories!
My story: I'm 31 and DH is 36. Tried 2.5 years with meds through the OB and when we went to the RE we decided to go straight to IVF as they couldn't find a reason for our infertility.
Last fall we did our first stim cycle. Only 9/15 eggs were "nature" and 6 fertilized. Only 2 made it to day 5 and were both frozen due to my OHSS. We did transfers In October and December, and neither stuck.
My doctor suggested that we do this new test: the ERA. You take meds as if you are doing a frozen cycle, and then instead of a transfer you take a biopsy. There are 280+ genes involved in whether or not your lining is "ready" for an embryo to implant. My ERA was done at 5 days, the day that 80% of women have the "optimal" lining for implantation, and when all clinics do their transfers.
The test came back that my lining is NOT ready at day 5 like many women. My lining is actual optimal at 7 days(!!) so we will proceed with transfers pushed back a few days. This is a newer test but if you have 2 failed transfers your doctor should consider offering it to you.
My doctor seems to think that this is the "why" we are not pregnant. I can't really find much online about it and am hoping that someone else here has a story. I'm really trying feel hopeful, but it's hard!
We started stims again on Feb. 6 and hope to have retrieval on the 15th. We will be doing ICSI and PGS this time to make sure we are implanting chromosomal normal embryos, and then put them in on the right day.
Thanks in advance!
