What's the best advice you got when you were pregnant?

Planning is a waste of time and energy. You make a birth plan and you end up throwing it out the window. You plan for diapers and the baby comes out wearing a different size. You buy clothes and the baby is too big/small to fit in them. You buy swings and swaddles and the baby hates them both. You don't by a swing and the only thing that puts him to sleep is swinging lol basically you gotta play this all fast and loose. You can't plan ahead for anything. As the saying goes 'you plan, and God laughs'

My family are all bitches  all they kept saying " get ready you'll never sleep again " 😩 for the few few weeks but I'm sleeping now screw their advice 😈

I know people mean well but I can't think of much advice that I was given that was helpful. This doesn't stop them from trying darn it. If anything they seem more determined to give me the ye old advice. I just nod smile and agree til they leave. I just say listen to your instinct as it tends to know best.

I wasn't really give advice. But I do recall my SIL saying with a baby you'll never get anywhere on time ( not true if anything we are earlier) and I'll need a minivan because my Corolla is not big enough for baby stroller, groceries etc. she was wrong about that one too. I can fit the stroller and groceries like crazy in my trunk. And when we have #2 eventually we will put another car seat in the back, gasp! Love proving others wrong. And I disagree that you can't plan for a baby. I didn't do a birth plan, that's just silly and too unpredictable. However every diaper I stocked up on was used and every wipe. We never needed a swing, bouncer etc. it's just clutter anyway. So far so good. He's 17 months now and we are so lucky to have him!
