6w2d major scare yesterday..

So I'm a little over 6 weeks pregnant and have been spotting off and on for the last week or so (only when I wipe). Doctor told me it was normal as long as it wasn't heavy bleeding with bad cramping. Well yesterday I felt a gush of something down there and went to the restroom and it was bright red and a lot more than I'd ever had.. I called my doctor and they told me to come in in a couple hours to get checked out. I put a pad in and noticed I was bleeding pretty heavy so I went back to the restroom about 20 min later and saw a pretty good sized blood clot looking thing in the toilet. I was freaking out and was sure I had passed the baby. The doctor tells me to bring it in when I go to my appointment. So we go to my appointment expecting the worst and my dr looks at what I brought in and says it's just a blood clot. He does an ultrasound to see if the baby is there and sees the baby and heartbeat. He calls my husband over there to look and shows him where the heartbeat is. I sat up on the table in disbelief. I was so sure we had lost the baby (I've had 2 previous miscarriages). Anyways, I just wanted to tell my story and see if this has happened to anyone else and if they've went on to have a healthy pregnancy? Dr said it's just a waiting game bc there's really nothing we can do except wait and come back in 2 weeks.. anyone else with a similar situation? Thanks in advance!
