HCG still high after miscarriage

I go for another blood test on the 14th and another on the 21st, followed by another ultrasound on the 24th. Has anyone had their HCG take such a long time to drop? I'm so worried that there may be tissue left over and after all of this I may still need to go for a D&C in the end of it. I just want this over with so we can start trying again!!
