Paragard troubles

On February 8th I started bleeding like I was on my period, was very light and a bright red. Between then and now, Feb 11, I've had brown spotting but not a lot. Today I started bleeding again and its bright red and light like before. Since the paragard doesn't have hormones this shouldn't be normal right? I've had very regular periods before this. I have the 6 week check up on the 20th but I was just curious if anyone else has experience this and this is only my 2nd period with the iud.
