How Long Did You BF and Why?

Currently my milk is drying up. I'm 5.5 months PP, I've tried everything to keep things going but I'm just over it now.

We're on 18 weeks right now. Lately, because i've FINALLY conquered my anxiety brain,I honestly have NO idea most days whether or not i'm pumping enough. I was obsessing for so long because I don't often get an accurate count of exactly what she's eating at daycare and I started giving her 3oz pumped milk in a bottle at night after she drains me (my production is down at night and she started waking up hungry a couple hours after bedtime) I was so stressed and obsessed about the number of ounces im pumping and is it enough... and now I don't even pay attention. It's been so freeing. My suspicion is that i'm still keeping up with her because on my days off she's content. But I have about 200 oz frozen and my provider says she has a ton frozen yet too, so it will be what it will be. We'll either get to the end of the freezer stash and supplement with formula, or we wont. It was very hard to let go but once I did I feel much better. I will miss the actual breastfeeding when we stop, but I will not miss pumping and will love to have an actual lunch break at work!

3 months. I had to supplement early on because he wasn't gaining any weight and then we did BF + formula for a while. Around 3 months, he started refusing the breast more and more and preferring the bottle. For a little while, he would still BF before bed and first thing in the morning but then he refused that too so we just stopped. This was all around the time that he had his first cold and he was very congested. I think that the bottle is just easier and milk comes faster and with his little nose all stuffed up, he was getting too frustrating with the breast.

My son will be 22 weeks tomorrow and we're still breastfeeding. I'd like to go until he's at least 1 and then we'll see how it goes. I'd like to let him wean when he's ready to, but I'm not sure what age i'd like to absolutely stop by. I imagine if he can ask me to make him a sandwich in a full sentence, we'll be done with breastfeeding haha.

I breastfed my eldest for 7 months. I dried up due to pregnancy. I breastfed my oldest daughter 3 years 8 months. My daughter now is 5 months and I will breastfeed her until 2ish

I'm starting to dry up too. Tried to pump and could only get 50-60ml. I hope I'm not accident starving my child. So stressful! Pumping is hard when baby doesn't want mom to put him down at all 😐 this is all so hard.

I am also so so so over it!!!! But at other moments so so so happy to be his food source! Definitely a roller coaster.

Lately, his appetite has increased, but since I am at work, he can't latch onto me enough to up my supply. Plus, my letdown is terrible when pumping, and I only pump four ounces total, if lucky, during a missed feeding while at work. At home, him feeding on me is fine. The milk is there. Getting it out via pump at work is rough though.

I recently read that one in eight moms have thyroid issues during the first year postpartum, that usually resolve on their own after a year. However, the thyroid issues affect letdown, and can affect supply. Since I already have an autoimmune disease, I am going to request a lab test for my thyroid levels.

Last week, I made peace with the fact that I had to use formula at daycare to make up for lack of milk. It was hard for me, emotionally, but he took to it fine, and now the constant pressure to pump is gone.

He will continue to remain EBF when he is not in daycare though.

I can tell my supply has dropped since I started working more (I'm a CPA and it's tax season). But I still pump 3 times a day and supplement. I'm trying not to stress about it, breastfeeding isn't all or nothing. My daughter is still benefiting.

5 months here and still breastfeeding. It's been really hard since she also has a protein intolerance and I had to cut out dairy, nuts, and eggs from my diet. I work full time and I am now to the point of having to pump 4 times at work and once before bed just to get enough for daycare the next day. I wanted to make it to 1 year but I will be happy for whatever we can get to after 6 months.
