Would you spend valentines with your boyfriends parents?

As always my bf didn't tell me until Sunday that his mom is expecting us over for dinner on valentines day.

Am I the only one that thinks that is weird?

Mind you we have 3 young kids, in which I planned to take out for ice cream and make them something special for dinner.

Would u ladies forgo your plan bc your mil wanted you guys over for dinner? Dinner at their house is always a whole night ordeal bc his mom tells everyone dinner will be ready at a certain time and it is never until hours after that, and we end up leaving so late the kids start to get cranky. Not a big fan of dinner dates at family's or friends on school nights.

I'm a mom of 3 young kids who has time and energy for that on the weekday...we were free all weekend lol
