Dating?

So my husband and I have two completely different views on dating.  The other night we were talking about our children and how old they were getting, just so happened we started talking about them dating. My husband thinks our boys should go out and experience life and possibly sow their wild oats lol while I think they should date with a purpose.  Any thoughts on how your kids should date? Just wanting to see what other point of views are out there 😌

I think it should be the same for all children. Me and my brother were raised the exact same way and I will raise my kids the same. Nobody should have special treatment. I think there should definitely be an age that kids should be allowed to start dating, but it should be consistent with each child as they get older. And yes I agree that there should be a "purpose" to it. Not just dating just to "date". That's lame lol

I would encourage my children to have meaningful relationships but at the end of the day they're their own person & I won't judge their decisions. They've gotta make their own mistakes anyway. As long as they're being safe, I'd support them either way. Everyone is different. Some people have to date around & play the field before they're interested in being serious, others never feel the need for that. If you try to push your children into a dating style that doesn't work for them, they're going to end up in crappy relationships!

We are going to encourage our son to date respectfully and remember that the women or men he dated are people with feelings and their own needs. Whether "sowing oats" or dating to marry, he'd better treat them honestly

I definitely want to teach my son dating with purpose. "Sowing your pats" just teaches your kid that there's no reason to respect the other person and (I believe) kind of teaches you to be selfish in what you want from people.

A friend of my boyfriends was talking about a new girlfriend of one of their friends who is a virgin. His response was, "perfect! You can take her virginity and then move and not deal with her!" Some of the shit they say makes me sick. So I believe teaching high moral standards to your kids in regards to dating and the other sex is essential. If I ever hear my kid say bs like that I would disown him.

I will encourage my son to only date a girl he can see himslef marrying. Now I know they can brake up what I mean by that is don't date a girl just to use her or that your only dating to say you have a gf or had this many ggs in the past .I feel that if you can see your self realy liking or having a future with then don't waist her time or heart or yours. Date 1st take her out on dates don't force her to do anything she don't want to and vise versa ..respect her parents and her
