Annoying Father In Law

Me and My husband decided to live with his dad because his dad is a truck driver so he's always gone and alone and he wants to be with family when he's off. He is basically his own boss and he takes off WAY more than he should which is actually a big problem. Since he takes off so much he doesn't make money like he should so he's been borrowing a lot from us. I want to be respectful because it is his house but how are we suppose to do our part and half of his? What do I do?
