is this illegal?

My moms neighbor has a camera that's pointing directly onto her back porch. It's not looking at his land or his property at all. Nowhere near his house. It's on the back of a barn and right behind the barn is the fence that separates his land from hers. So it's on his property but he's watching my moms property. That means he's watching my siblings play on the back porch. 
Is that illegal? What can she do to make him take the camera down? It makes me feel like he's a fucking pedophile.  I told her to get a privacy fence but she can't afford that right now.

She can call the police and file a complaint but without proof that he's actually recording them there's nothing much she can do especially since it's on is property

I may be wrong, but I think as long as it's on his property it's legal for him to do. It may be different state to state though. She should talk to the police.

I think in different states the laws vary on this topic, but from my own personal experience-- you are fully within your right to have a security camera system that overlooks your property, but you are not allowed to have it view another's personal property land. I hope this helps. That's really creepy, but the best way to know for sure is to talk to that person or the police.

I think it might depend on the state. Have your mom speak to the neighbor and if it can't be resolved go to the piece station and speak to an officer. If it's not illegal, she could try taking him to civil court.

Wow 😳 but having a security camera in his backyard is not against the law. I rather have cameras securing every inch of my yard you never know where a rober is coming from .
