I just saw my thyroid levels online as a 7.4. They are usually under 3. I am 7 weeks pregnant does anyone know what this means. Please help.

It means you more than likely need to up your meds to bring your TSH down. However, you need to also look at your Free T3 as well.

Make sure that you talk with your doctor and come up with the best plan.

When you get pregnant and have a thyroid disorder you'll need to go for 4-6 week labs to keep your numbers in check.  I got my labs done 2 weeks before I got pregnant and my dose was adjusted then found out I was pregnant, called my endocrinologist and she rushed my a new higher prescription without even needing new labs. And I've been going every 4 weeks since then for new labs while my dose has slowly been rising.   Baby REALLY relies on your thyroid to develop properly during pregnancy and I don't want to scare you but not managing thyroid well can cause problems with the pregnancy.  Keep in contact with a doctor, hopefully an endocrinologist to manage your thyroid carefully.  A great resource is the Facebook page hypothyroid mom. Best wishes!

KC- I'm in this position right now. TSH levels had been stable around 2.5 with 50 mcg dose of Synthroid. I'm now 4w5d pregnant and TSH is 7.05. My PCP increased the dose to 75mcg today but I feel so scared reading about the risks of high TSH, and not knowing if this slightly increased Synthroid dose will produce the desired results. I so hope everything worked out well for you and your baby is healthy as can be.

Start to take thyroid medicine to get it below 2. Thyroid hormone increased during pregnancy. Consult ur endocrine. All d bst
