Nighttime feeds, wake or no?

I've read conflicting views on this. My baby is 1 week old and lastnight slept like a champ. I woke up and realized it's been 4 hours since he ate (he fed real good) and he was still sleeping sound. I decided to wake him and feed him. Should you wake a week old newborn to eat or let them sleep at night? During the day I wake him but is it different at night?

I was informed to wake & feed until her 2 Week check up appointment .. At that appointment her weight was perfect & doctor told me:

"Stop waking her up & sleep when she sleeps! When she is hungry she will get up" 😊

once they gain back to their birth weight, then let them sleep, they will wake when they are hungry, babies need lots of sleep for a reason, their brains are growing

My doctor told me to let him sleep at night. He said as long as he is gaining weight it's okay to not wake him :)

After I had him, I was told to wake him every 3 hours to eat. But in my opinion, let that baby sleep! They will let you know when they are hungry!!!!!

I was told to let him sleep until he gained his birth weight back. He gained it back by two weeks and I haven't woken him since.
