whole milk ????

Who has introduced whole milk to your LO ? At 8 months ? What was their reaction ? Did the like it ? Is Good For them ?

As far as I know before 1 year old their digestive system is not ready for whole milk. On top of that, in my case I still breastfeed, so there's no need to even consider fresh cow's milk. ;)

I'm lactose intolerant so I have no want to introduce cows milk.

There also isn't any need at 8 months for him to have it. He gets all the nutrients he needs from breast milk and the foods I give him.

Not recommended until after age 1, as you don't want it to replace their breast milk or formula intake and it can be difficult to digest.  After age 1, you can transition to homogenized milk (or whatever high fat milk you have at your grocer)

Her pediatrician and wic have both told me a year. Now she's my first and I don't have any expertise in this  or anything for that matter. But I think I will wait till a year. Its not that they are really missing anything that formula and breast milk can't supply right now anyways. Instead of milk I would just keep giving your little one juice in a sippy cup. My daughter loves the motts for tots it's already per diluted which I love.

I'm so confused by cows milk and when to introduce it. I breastfeed so any drink she is having is breast milk but am wondering if it would be ok to use it in her morning oats or to make pancakes with. All the advice I see around it is focused on offering cows milk to drink.

My son is almost 9 months old and we started whole milk when he was 8.5 month old and no reaction whatsoever. I give him formula and regular cow milk too during the day and formula during the night and day. He doesn't have any allergic reaction. He has had digestion issue since the day he was born. Constipation, acid reflux and gas.

I think with my first at 9-10 months I started doing a couple bottles a day with half milk half formula, and then at a year, all milk in bottles and sippy cups. By 14 months he was done with bottles. My daughter (8 months) grabbed her brother's sippy cup of milk tonight, and started drinking it though. I didn't take it away at first. I just wanted to see her reaction to the taste and coldness.
