baby drama 🙄

One of my good friends lives here in Orlando. I'm planning on doing a gender reveal by having the doctor call my friend to tell her the gender. She's going to bake a cake with the gender color inside of course, cute idea right? Nothing big just a small gesture. So my mom was going to be on FaceTime when we cut the cake. Now, everyone seems to be upset that my friend is going to know before anyone in the family...isn't that what a gender reveal is for? So I was chewed out for being so insensitive and having a friend know before anyone else. I think it's completely ridiculous. Am I in the wrong or what? I have no idea now what to do because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but it seems that is all I am doing. Help 🙄
