Anyone live in Zika Areas?

Question

Specifically Grand Cayman, Jamaica, or Mexico? We booked a cruise with family with these ports and I am wondering what the Zika situation is there. My Doctor said I could still go but to wear repellent and maybe consider not getting of the ship at port. I'm wondering how you are all faring with the Zika scare while living in the areas.

I don't live in those areas but last September we went on a cruise to the Bahamas. I was not pregnant at the time but we were ttc so my doctor told me to wear repellent and be cautious. We went to Atlantis for a day and swam with dolphins and I had no problems at all.

Then after the cruise we went to Florida
(Orlando area) for a week and I had no problems there either.

I would listen to your doctor. If they gave you the go ahead then just do as they request and take care of yourself!

Thank you for the response. I don't want o miss out on a family vacation that we've had planned for months. I'm totally prepared to use repellent and not get off the boat.
