Man or womans choice?

Is it the mans or woman's choice on engagement rings? By women's choice I mean she picks out a couple and he chooses. By mans choice I mean he goes into a store and picks out whatever ring he likes best.

I think it depends on the couple and how they want to do things. My mom designed her engagement ring and I kinda want to do the same.

Both. She should be able to choose style or look but if he is paying for it then he has say on how much he can afford.

I wanted my husband to pick it for me, I wanted it to be a surprise 😂 but he said he wanted to make sure I liked it so he took me ring shopping. I picked out two and told him to choose. And he did so it at the end it was both our decision 😁😊

I didn't choose. My husband did it on his own and I absolutely love my ring. When I asked why he didn't ask me what I wanted prior he said cause I should know u well enough to know what u want.  I thought that was pretty awesome!!

My first ring. My husband and I picked one out and he isn't very good about planning things out so he went the day before we were leaving for vacation and they didn't have it so he went to another store and just picked something he thought was similar and I didn't like it at all. I ended up getting something else that I love. We have super different taste in everything which kinda sucks bc I end up with a bunch of stuff I don't like.

We looked together so we could figure out the style, from the rings I chose & the rings he chose, I knew whatever he picked would be better lol. So he picked what he wanted & I absolutely love it!

I like the idea of a woman giving him choices but i also like the man picking lol with my one ex (we werent close to getting married i just love rings) i told him "i love this style engagement ring" so if we ever got there hed at least have an idea of what id want lol unfortunately we broke up before i could ever get the ring lol

Really dependent on the couple. My dad's idea of proposing to my mom was to pretend like he was going watch shopping so they went into a jewelry store but he had actually picked out a ring from there that he knew she loved. So it was sitting in the box on the counter and she was pointing at watches for him while he proposed. So she picked it by accident and he surprised her with it.

When I got engaged, my ex-fiancé picked the ring for me but with my mom's help. He wanted the ultimate choice but wanted an opinion on if I'd like it. (I would like anything someone proposed to me with.)

The point is: it really varies couple to couple. Traditionally, id say the one proposing picks. But I don't see a problem with the one being proposed to picking the ring if the one proposing doesn't feel
Comfortable with picking it out alone.
