bassinets, your opinion

I love the idea of bassinets especially because at the moment we live with family so the baby will be in our room and in general I want the baby close to the bed. But when I was mentioning this to someone I know, they said they need a crib too. That they can sleep in the bassinets all day or for a long time. They don't have kids of their own, they were just going by their own knowledge.

So my question is, do I really need to have a crib and also a bassinet? It's not like the baby will always be in there, we all know we love to cuddle in bed with our newborns so they'll also be sleeping in bed whenever daddy isn't home. (Safely). Is it really gonna cause backache and body aches to the baby?

Like what do I do? And when should I look into buying a crib?

My husband and I struggle a lot with finances, we make enough but it's not like we can spend thousands in a day and by a crib and everything like it's the most easiest thing in the world, I mean, we live with family so you can imagine. So what are your opinions?

I really need help knowing what to do. It's our first baby so we're new to all this.
