Price of Eye Contacts ??????????

Well I wear glasses and I pretty much have my whole life but I really want to get contacts. I've worn them before but it was for one month for free from my insurance. Now I have a different insurance. I have Medicaid. I am 19 almost 20 and I have a three month old. Almost four month old. Obviously I know my insurance won't cover it but once me and my hubby get on our feet I want to get some....Is Walmart the cheapest? I want to get the cheapest contacts I guess. My eyes are different prescriptions I guess you can say. Any body have any ideas????

America's Best has an eye care club that is $100 for 3 years of eye exams. Then you can get contacts for about $15-20 a box (cheaper is you buy a larger supply). Each box has 6 contacts...enough for 3 months for one eye (the length of time for disposables is usually 2 weeks).

They also have basic glasses 2 pair for $69.

This is without insurance.

I go to a local eye place & pay about $450/year for my exam + a year's worth of daily disposable contacts.

I payed 150 for 3 months worth of contacts that's including the eye exam. My insurance didn't cover it

Walmart (without insurance, where I live) is $100 for the exam. Then you just buy your contacts. 1-800 contacts is probably the cheapest but your insurance should cover some of the cost. I get 6 months worth & make them last a year.

Insurance can cover part of the costs!
We pay $300 every 6 months but I think it's cheaper if you don't get the dailies. Costco is the cheapest

I visit the optometrist to get my contacts and when I had dailies, they were around around $68 a box (x2 boxes one for each eye) for a 3 month supply. They weren't great so I switched to Accuevue and now it's around $80 a box. I don't have eyeglass/contacts insurance so this is all out of pocket amounts. 
I looked into it and this is the same cost as 1-800-Contacts. 
I also have an astigmatism so the cost of my contacts might be a little bit more than without.

(Canada) my fiancé gets his contacts right from his optometrist, I think he pays $160 for 3 or 6 months worth (one pair per month).
