Daycare?

Question

I'm your opinion, what is the most important question to ask a potential daycare provider?

Working in daycare.... there are so many questions but I think every parent should ask

Why are you working in daycare? 
If the provider is working in childcare for the right reasons usually your baby is in good hands!

Side note.... I work in daycare and I still refuse to let anyone but me watch my LO and he's 6 months old 🙄 I don't know when I will feel comfortable with it.

I think infant to teacher ratio is an obvious but important question. One morning I walked in to find 11 babies and two teachers in my daughter's room. Also I wish I would have picked a place which separates the walking babies from the non walking babies. I get nervous watching the walkers tumble around the room while the babies are lying on the floor especially when the teachers are preoccupied changing diapers etc.

My daycare has video cameras that I can check on my child and they aren't good about wanting to partner with the parents but trust your instinct when visiting the daycares an observation is definitely important.

I working for couple months In a day care please don't trust no daycare l see so many things now that I have twins I don't want to work more hours I went back just for a part time my hubby stay with them just remember baby's don't talk and no everyone can handle baby they just do it for money. Trust me on this

Shoot don't ask the daycare workers! They probably tell you what you wanna hear, just observe their demeanor with other kids, look into yelp or Facebook reviews on the place and best one I'd say is to wait around in the parking lot before or after your walk thru to ask parents picking up their kids. I did this when moving my kids school and you get much better advice/opinions from parents than you would from employees trying to sell you on their daycare. Good luck

I don't know how it's possible to trust an in home provider you don't know. So I wouldn't know where to begin with questions. Luckily ours is a close family friend that i've known for 20+ years and had been in daycare for 16 years.

At a daycare center I'd ask how long the employees had been there and if it was a high turn around that would be a deal breaker for me.
